NU Lady Bulldogs assert their dominance in the first round of UAAP Women’s Volleyball

National University stays undefeated as they finish their last game in the first round of UAAP Season 84 Women’s Volleyball held at SM Mall of Asia Arena.

 

The Lady Bulldogs crushed the Lady Maroons in the first set with the final score of 25-10 with Pangilinan ending the set with a powerful opposite attack. Despite the landslide score, The UP Lady Maroons fought their ground as they kept NU’s balls up high in one of the longest rallies of the first set.

 

UP bounced back from the score of 10, adding 10 more points from their first set but still did not succeed in winning a set against NU. The second set finished off in a tight game with a final score of 25-20. 

 

NU showed no mercy as they finished off the last set with a score of 25-15. BELEN is the leading scorer, and currently the #2 best spiker for the first round, with 13 points. Team Captain ROBLES does not fall behind with 12 points along with 12 excellent digs as she contributes to both defending and attacking, she is also the current #1 spiker for the first round. 

 

Setter LAMINA shows a wonderful distribution of the ball as their teammates get almost equal individual points in attacking. This also shows the great sportsmanship and hard work of the NU Lady Bulldogs, everyone is contributing in their own way. It’s also possibly the reason how they managed to sweep up the first round with a 7-0 standing.
