Metro Manila and nearby areas remain on Alert Level 1

The entire Metro Manila and different provinces, cities, and municipalities are retained in Alert level 1 from May 16 to 31, the Malacanang announced last May 15. 

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) approved the alert levels last May 14, according to Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, the acting presidential spokesperson.

According to the IATF secretariat, 79 provinces, highly urbanized cities (HUCs), and independent component cities (ICCs), as well as 160 additional cities and municipalities, are already classified as alert level 1 under the new classifications.
 
Other regions under alert level 1 besides Metro Manila include: Abra, Apayao, Baguio City, Aurora, Bataan, Zambales, Kalinga, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province,  Lucena City,  Nueva Ecija, Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Cavite, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, La Union, Oriental Mindoro, Isabela, Angeles City, Tarlac, Pampanga, Quirino,  Olongapo City, Bulacan, Santiago City,  Puerto Princesa City, Laguna,  Rizal,  Marinduque, Batangas, Romblon;
 
Albay, Lapu-Lapu City, Bukidnon, Guimaras, Bacolod City,  Catanduanes, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Capiz, Iloilo City, Siquijor, Naga City, Mandaue City, Aklan, Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro City, Tacloban City, Surigao del Sur, Eastern Samar, Misamis Oriental, Biliran Southern Leyte, Iligan City,  Zamboanga City, Butuan City, Ormoc City, and  Davao City,
 
From May 16 through 31, all additional provinces, with the exception of those having component cities and towns, are on alert level 2, as are all remaining HUCs and ICCs.
