For the first time since 2009, Far Eastern University is the new champion of the UAAP Season 84 cheer dance competition on Sunday, May 22, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

After their back-to-back runner way back on UAAP Season 82 and 83, they got the highest scores this season receiving 727.5 points with no deduction because of their great performance with clean pyramids, and solid tosses and tumbles.

FEU head coach Radell San Gregorio said “We’ve been runner-up for the past years. Finally, we won a title. The preparation was so hard. 15 people and three minutes. If six minutes was short, what more for this three-minute performance. We could also do more with 25 people.  As they say, the struggle is real,” Since this season has a lot of changes compared to the last seasons because of the Pandemic. It was limited to only 15 performers with a three minute performance without the presence of the drummers.

FEU won the grand prize of Php 50,000 and a special award worth Php 40,000.

However, the Adamson Pep Squad, the champion last season 80 continued their momentum and won first place with 688.5 points with no deduction and will bring home a 30,000 cash prize, while the NU PEP Squad ended its three times champion and won as a second runner-up with a score of 681 points. They received 20,000 and a special award worth Php 40,000.

The University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe got fourth place with 681 points. The University of the East was in fifth place with 592.5 points. The University of the Philippines was in sixth place with 582.5 points. De La Salle Animo Squad got 567.5 and the Ateneo Blue Eagles with 488.5 points placed last.
