Former dictator's son Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is leading the partial unofficial count of the Philippine presidential elections by a landslide of 31 million votes which is more than half of her most vicious opponent, Leni Robredo's total number of votes as of May 18, 2022.

The elections were held last May 9, 2022, from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. Reports of faulty vote-counting machines (VCM) started as early as 8:15 am, a little over two hours since voting precincts opened.

As of 7 p.m. on May 9, Kontra Daya's report showed 321 verified cases of VCM errors that include rejection of ballots and paper jams.

On the morning after the elections, the Commission of Elections (COMELEC) reported that the fastest transmission of election returns since the country implemented automated voting has been recorded this year.

"The results were due to the improved and upgraded equipment and system," as stated by Comelec Commissioner George Garcia.

This phenomenon convinced the oppositionists that the election was rigged.

However Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquez quickly put an end to these speculations, "It was hard to prove that the automated election was rigged in favor of Marcos Jr," he stated in a media briefing on Wednesday (May 11).

According to the last Presidential Pulse Asia Survey dated April 16-21, 2022, 6 days before the May 9 polls, Marcos Jr. maintained a vast 56 percent voter preference lead over the 2nd leading candidate, Leni Robredo.

This 56 percent survey lead of Marcos Jr. draws close to the 58.74 percent May 9 polls lead.

Up to this day, Oppositionists are still in dismay at the results of the May 9 polls.

With the former dictator's son back in the seat, the administration will continue to hear flak from critics as well as the Martial Law victims.
