Aika Robredo Suffers Online Sexual Harassment Amidst the National Elections

Aika Robredo, the daughter of presidential candidate Leni Robredo, has been subjected to online sexual harassment amid the National Election campaigns. Robredo, 34, allegedly sex video leaked on social media and became a popular search among netizens.

 

The phony film was circulated on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. These deceptive activities were supposed to be a ruse to divert attention away from Leni Robredo, who is running for president in the May 9 election.

 

Gabriela Women's Partylist was one of the first to criticize the harassment. "Aika is the daughter of Vice President Leni Robredo, Marcos Jr's current major opponent. This is a cheap, sexist online campaign intended to demonize women and divert attention away from Vice President Leni Robredo's struggle for good government, health-based pandemic response, and people's welfare," Gabriela Partlylist Representative Arlene Brosas said.

 

The Philippine National Police-Anti Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) also stated that they are ready to begin an investigation. Lt. Michelle Sabino, a PNP-ACG spokesman, said they are merely waiting for a request from the Vice President's camp before starting the inquiry.
