Silip@Lente-Adamson University (SILAU) invites guest speakers and hosts a photography contest for its annual environmental event with the theme, “Radiating Serenity: Capturing Our Comfort in The Midst of The Unknown” on Saturday, April 9 via Zoom Meeting.

Time for Nature 2022 is a nature photography contest and a one-day webinar event of SILAU. Its goal is to highlight how nature may help people cope with stress and anxiety amidst the pandemic while also emphasizing the necessity of environmental protection through photography.

There were 2 guest speakers who shared their expertise and knowledge regarding nature photography during the webinar portion of the event.

Mr. Mark Anthony Lupas, a self-taught photographer, shares his mastery with regards to using a smartphone phone as a tool for taking photos. At the end of his talk, Mr. Anthony left a message that says, “Every photo tells a story, every photographer is a storyteller”.

Mr. Edwin Martinez, Canon Philippines' brand ambassador, describes his experience as a landscape photographer and offers some ideas and strategies for beginners in photography as the final guest speaker. Mr. Edwin stated during his presentation, “It’s not about the educational background, it’s the passion for photography”.

In the photography contest, a total of 9 participants from different universities submitted their entries but only three of them got the prizes. The winners of the competition were announced after the webinar and they are Kayla Babista – Far Eastern University-Manila (First Place), Jared Magayaga – Adamson University (Second place and People’s Choice Award), and Annica Santos – Adamson University (Third place).
